About This Blog:

WHO ARE WE: We are students at Northeastern University, freshman-seniors of different majors, enrolled in a Digital Feminisms course. Some of us are media studies scholars, some of us are scientists, and some of us are women’s studies scholars. All of us are passionate about making the world a better place.

WHERE ARE WE: Physically, we are located in Boston, MA. Additionally, we are all present on a number of different social media and networking sites, this being our most recent adventure!

WHY ARE WE: We want to use this website to share the knowledge of Digital Humanities and feminism that we have gained through our course work. We have compiled information and resources to meet our goal of sharing and facilitating activism.

HOW OLD IS THIS SITE: This site was created in September 2017, as a discussion board for responses to feminist writings. In November 2017, we decided to make the site appeal to a global audience, and expanded the site’s offering. The site is constantly being revamped to be more interactive for the class and outsiders who happen upon it; most recently, the site’s format changed in November 2017.

WHAT WILL THIS SITE OFFER: This website houses outside resources and videos, discussion PowerPoints our class has created, our class’s blogs as responses to assigned classroom articles, and an introduction to feminism and digital humanities.

WHAT TYPE OF CONTENT WILL YOU FIND HERE: Here, you’ll find an overview of what feminism and the digital humanities are, insightful blog posts related to feminist topics, resources and videos, and even quizzes you can take that will help you along your feminist journey!

WHAT CAN YOU CONTRIBUTE: We would love to hear your comments, questions, and concerns in the comments section!

WHAT IS THIS SITE’S DEFINITION OF FEMINISM: This site operates off of the bell hooks definition of feminism. “Feminism is a movement to end sexism, sexual exploitation, and oppression.” We would like to add that the end of oppression involves fighting for the rights of all genders, classes, sexualities, races, and ability levels.
